So i am back...but brought along a wicked nasty cold....here are some stories to make you laugh about my last 4 days from HELL.
Day 1. Started out pretty low key, flights are going well, GREAT crew. Aaron Pritchett was on my flight and now we are on a first name basis. He was going to winnipeg for his new years eve concert, and we chatted for a bit. He remembered me from my old airline. Pretty crazy because that was a while ago. Anyways hes pretty low key. A girl on the plane asked for his autograph and there was an old lady sitting beside him and she was like "oh are you someone famous?" and hes like nope, not at all..it was funny..Anyways for all of you who dont know him, he is a country singer. Sings Warm Safe Place. Great tune. After that we landed in winnipeg in a wicked snowstorm. It was pretty out of control.
Day 2. Woke up to the wicked snowstorm still going on. Knew it was going to be a brutal day, as it was a long one. 11 and a half hours we were blocked at. Get to the airport, and it turns out that the 0630 headstart flights (the first flights of the morning) hadnt even left yet. (our flight was sched for 0905) GREAT. We sat around the airport for about an hour and then our plane was pulled to the gate. We get on the plane and it is quite clear that we are going to have to de ice. We start boarding and about half way through, i get a call from the FA at the front that we have an addition to the Specials and that we have another kennel coming on board and that the lady who is bringing it on is irrate. In toronto on her way to winnipeg, she tried to sneak the dog on the plane and they caught her and went over the guidelines and regulations of having a kennel on board. So in winnipeg the same thing happens but she doesnt want to pay for the kennel this time. She ended up threatning the Customer Service Agents with the media because she apparently works for it. The Csa's were so stressed out with the snowstorm and what not they let it go....during the demo, i noticed her hand in the kennel which you arnt allowed to do. I let it go because we hadnt even pushed back yet and was going to watch it. I went back again and her hand wasnt in the kennell. I went to talk to the other Fa's and they said to just let it be for now, as we are de icing and what not, and we have to catch her doing it. Shes a sneaky lady and we couldnt catch her. Finally I did and I told her, that her hand cant be inside the kennel. She said well the dog is barking, and i said ook well your hand cant be in the kennel and walked away. I went to the back to phone up to the captain to update him on all of this, and he said to tell her to either keep her hand out of the kennel and we can go or she can choose to get off the plane and we would taxi back to the aircraft. I was walking up to the front to talk about it with the Lead and the lady tapped me on the side and said we have two choices, either the dog barks or my hand is int he kennel and he doesnt bark..i said your hand can not be in the kennel and she said fine it barks and i said fine it barks. i walk away and go to the forward galley and i guess the lady followed me and grabbed me very violently from behind and threw me around and then got in my face and started shaking her fingers at me and waht not. The other fa's had to step in so she wouldnt get any closer to me. She made me very upset and my reaction was to cry (WHICH SHE DIDNT SEE THANK GOD) and i had to get pulled int ot he flight deck and everyone was debating about what to do. she actually stayed on board because we were now 3 hours delayed and it would have delayed people more to go back to the gate and offload her.. (BAD DECISION!!!) anyways i ended up just pretty much staying in the back and i wouldnt go past row 12 from the back because she was in row 11. she ended up asking all the crew for their employee numbers and names but our captain told us not to give them out...she kept asking and asking (we took off our name tags) and finally we told her she could call westjet to talk about it. I was in the back galley on descent and i was cleaning up and she came into the galley and cornered me in the galley and was trying to find something on me that had my name on it. (ID tags, name tags...anything) i told her what she was already told. "Our captain does not want us giving out our info, as it is a security concern." Georgia who is smaller than me, had to push her way into this so the lady would leave...
She was crazy...this typing doesnt even justify everything that happened. She also threatened me with the media and said she is going to put this all int he news...I just smiled and walked away. I wanted to ask her waht she was going to publish. That she didnt follow transport rules and harrassed me? AHHHHH
We got into toronto 1 hour late, and on top of all this, I was getting sicker and my ears were plugging like CRAZY!! like hurting and i couldnt hear anything. Not a good sign.
We went for dinner as a crew said happy new year at 11 and all went to our rooms
Day 3. Better day, we took a delay in kelowna about an hour and a half. No biggy, I decided in kelowna that i was going to offload once i got to edmonton as my ears were out of control and nothing was helping. I got to edmonton, offloaded myself, went for a great dinner at the Gurnhams (THANKS GUYS!!LOVE YA) and then went back to the hotel and crashed.
Day 4. Sat as a guest and landed in calgary. cold not doing so well. ears still plugged. on the plus side i saw KATIE!!!!!!!!!!!! She got a pink dvd player for christmas..it was pretty wicked.
k i have typed enough...im going to go shower and then start cleaning up the house..

Tell that B%^*$ to come see me - I'm not a an employee and we Farr's are known for our temper ;-) I hope you mentally kicked her ass from here to China!!! You rock and she is a psycho!!! Intimidation is not a tactic of a happy person (or one who's is mentally all there!) I hope your next flights are better and that you feel better soon.
Enough! She must go in the kennel with the dog and we dont care if she barks!!!!!! We are there for you.....what an ordeal. Remember the public is crazy and you have to protect yourself. Wear armour...I know...working with the general public is a sure way to crazy. Stay strong and know we have your back!
I would just like to say that people have no consideration for the rules and regulations of anything. If I was on that flight I would have said something like "will you listen to her she knows the rules of the flight." I hope your next flight is a good one.
